Three hundred years ago, the last one swallowed Valdara, the greatest kingdom of islands that has ever existed, and its ruins still lie beneath the waves, waiting for anyone bold enough to dive down. Now the currents are changing course, the beasts are fleeing its waters, and the magic of the tides is growing. The next Breaking is near. The pirates want to be the first to reach the islands that will rise, the Empire of Solmara claims them as the heir of Valdara, the merchants speculate over what will be saved, and the cultists of the abyss pray that the sea will choose them.
